Pomeranian Puppies for Sale in Ohio
Pomeranians are little dogs with huge personalities. They’re affectionately called “Poms” or “Pom Poms” by some owners, in part because their fluffy fur looks a bit like a pompom. Poms are descendants of the German Spitz, and the breed originated in the Northern European region called Pomerania.
Pomeranians have cuddled their way through history, with Queen Victoria having bred them down in size from as much as 30 pounds to the smaller 7- to 10-pound Poms of modern times. A Pomeranian played muse to Michelangelo by sitting at his side while he painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and one of Mozart’s arias was dedicated to his Pom Pom, Pimperl.
Breed Characteristics
Pomeranians come in a wide variety of colors, including black, tan, brown, blue, white and cream. There are also other color mixes like brindle, merle and parti-color, which is a blend of white and other colors.
This breed is extremely cuddly with its people, making Pomeranians an excellent choice for therapy dogs. They do need to be gently socialized with other dogs, though, because they don’t know they’re little and can get a bit fussy with bigger animals.
Pomeranians are known as the little dogs that are always smiling, and they may be small, but they pack a lot of love and spirit into a tiny package. Puppies Online can help you find the perfect new canine friend to welcome into your family
